Inglett & Stubbs International develops custom monitoring and control systems on a SCADA platform, using Programmable Logic Controllers, various instruments, and signal inputs from all of the process equipment. That information is gathered and processed by the SCADA system to determine the instantaneous status of all of the systems of the plant. The Automation and Control Systems then makes decisions and adjustments, such as:
>> Starting an additional generator
>> Disconnecting loads in case of emergency
>> Balancing generation capacity with fuel consumption to ensure optimal fuel efficiency
The Automation and Control Systems are monitored through Human Machine Interface (HMI), which allows plant operators to have visual feedback and manual control of all systems. These systems can interface with other process systems at factories or mine sites and interlock processes to make sure power is available before large equipment is started.
In addition to controlling power plant applications, the Schneider Electric PLC systems installed by ISI can also control mining processes, integrate power plants with existing mining processes, and control facilities or entire campus operations. Integration of automation systems allows the client to realize reduced energy costs and conserve resources.
